It is our intent to hold an ITF World Tennis Tour Event and we will provide updates as we receive USTA/ITF Covid 19 guidelines. Thank you for your continued support. This tournament is is our largest fundraiser and we anticipate another great week of tennis and look forward to seeing all of our fans, friends and supporters.

The Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation Tennis Championship. The event will be a $10,000 UTR Open Prize Money event instead of an ITF World Tennis Tour event. The singles winner of the event will earn a first-prize paycheck of $3,000, which is about double from previous years as an ITF event. The singles runner-up will earn $1,500. Singles semifinalists will earn $750 and quarterfinalists will earn $500. Doubles winners will split $1,500 and the runners-up will split $500.

Since this is an “open” men’s tournament, all entries to the tournament are accepted so aspiring, ambitious and adventurous are invited to enter singles and/or doubles! Singles entries are $90 and doubles entries are $120 per team and benefit the Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation. Players can enter here: https://app.myutr.com/events/30593?_ref=randywal270 The entry deadline is October 15.

Since there will not be ITF chair umpires at the event this year, the tournament is also seeking volunteers to sit in the umpire’s chair during matches to call the score (but leaving any official line call decisions to the roving umpire). If interested, please email Randy Walker at Rwalker@NewChapterMedia.com

Admission is free for Boulevard members but seating will be limited due to social distancing policies and a reservation system will be set up. More details on this process will be announced soon. There are also some limited reserved seats still available for sale for those who want to guarantee a seat for all sessions of the event. Those interested in those seats can email Lynn Southerly at lsouth1072@gmail.com

POSTPONED SPRING 2020 - The International Tennis Federation and the U.S. Tennis Association announced Wednesday, March 18th that due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis around the world, all tennis events on the ITF World Tennis Tour would be postponed through June 7, which includes the Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation Tennis Championships, which was set to be played April 26 – May 3 at The Boulevard tennis club.

In an email to tournament directors affected by the postponement, U.S. Tennis Association Competitive Pathway Senior Director Megan Rose said, “We are unable to discuss rescheduling options due to the uncertainty of the overall timeline. However, we will do our best to look at the remainder of the 2020 calendar and see where we can try to make adjustments.”

The Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation is committed to holding an event in 2020 but only after the environment is safe for fans, players, officials and volunteers.

Thank you for your patience and your continued support of at-risk children in Indian River County via the Mardy Fish Children’s Foundation.

We will keep you informed on additional updates as we know them.

In the meantime, be safe, wash your hands and practice social distancing.
